It took two guys two hours to put the desk together and the only problem that they had was there was not enough glue. The desk looks beautiful once it's together.

After thinking about it, I want to remove my initial Review, and give this desk 4 stars. Because even though we had some difficulty assembling it, others did not seem to find it that difficult. And in the end, it is a beautiful and sturdy desk for the price.

This desk is SO DIFFICULT to put together! It took my husband and I a good 8 hours to assemble it, and the middle drawer still won't close. There are 39 pieces PLUS all the hardware. The instructions are totally confusing. There is no indication in the illustrations of whether the finished sides or the unfinished sides should be up or down. We called the "help" number in the instruction book several times, and the girl who answered tried to help as much as she could. She did tell us at one point that this desk is extremely difficult to assemble, and that you really should have professional experience at assembling furniture to do it. My husband and I have been assembling furniture all week at a new place. We have assembled a 7 piece dining room set, a convertible sleeper-sofa, a TV stand, a headboard, and I rewired a lamp. But nothing was nearly as difficult as this desk. I wish someone had advised us of the poor instructions and the level of difficulty.

The Realspace Sierra Canyon Writing Desk is a nice desk and is sturdy and appears well made. The drawers slide easily and fit well. The cherry color is nice.
